Personal Statement
50 years old, lawyer (law degree from UCLA, undergraduate physics degree
from Harvard), have been professionally involved primarily in post-conviction
death penalty defense for last 7 years, but was involved with Communities
for a Better Environment, California, for 20 years as staff attorney, board
member, organization president, etc.. Semi-significant contributions in the
environmental field include major particpation in successful campaign to
stop the Peripheral Canal in California 20 years ago, and attorney in Abramowitz
v. EPA (9th Cir. 1987), which overturned EPA approval of the Los Angeles
area Clean Air Act implementation plan for failure even to attempt to meet
the 1987 deadline for compliance with federal air quality standards. Consider
myself a hardcore environmentalist and consider most issues other than human
population control to be secondary. |
