Personal Statement

My wife and I have lived in Bluff, Southeast Utah, for nine years (in 2006). To allow us the privilege of living here, and using the Public Lands, mostly walking with my dogs and hiking to find and visit Anasazi ruins and rock art, and to traverse this spectacular landscape, we own and operate Calf Canyon Bed and Breakfast, a name derived from turn of the last century cattle ranching by early LDS (Mormon) Pioneers and others.

I joined this organization (Rangenet) to do what little I might to help Public Land managers realize how counter-productive and destructive "too many cows on too little land for too long" is to this fragile, already deeply disturbed desert landscape.
