Personal Statement
I'm a native Oregonian. The ecological damage caused by cattle grazing
is all too apparent, as this long-standing practice destroys habitat and
supplants native species. This well documented destruction underscores the
need for a fundamental shift in grazing policy, with the protection of
wildlife and habitat becoming the foremost priority. Policy makers at all
levels must continue to be pushed by grassroots activists to understand
the negative impact of current grazing practices, and that there are
indeed other land-use values that supersede the existing emphasis of
grazing on our public lands.
